June 2025

MCSD student members of the New Jersey Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NJSHA), Sarah Brown and Alexa Atzert, participated in the NJSHA book drive project. They are pictured here before delivering 100 books to the students in the Pleasantville Public Schools Early Childhood Program. The MCSD program is proud to collaborate with Trisha Dansby, MSSW, LSW of the Pleasantville District to promote the importance of reading, especially since research notes a clear relationship between childhood literacy and health outcomes, requiring family, educator, and healthcare provider partnerships (Shulman et al., 2024).

Students in Cohort 13 of the MCSD program graduated on May 13, 2025. The program faculty wish them all wonderful futures as speech-language pathologists. And while we will miss them, we are excited to now call them colleagues after all of their hard but rewarding work in the program.

March 2025

MCSD's first- and second-year students had an incredible experience at the 2025 New Jersey Speech-Language-Hearing Association (NJSHA) Convention, held March 27–28 in Atlantic City. Our program proudly contributed three research posters, showcasing students’ ongoing research projects on the following topics: Speech-Language Pathologist's (SLPs’) perceptions of counseling bilingual clients, perceptions of telepractice outcomes, and job satisfaction among New Jersey-based SLPs. The convention provided valuable opportunities for students to share their research findings, engage with professionals across the state, and gain insight into current advancements and challenges in the field of speech-language pathology.
